Misting Vagina and Penis Slide: Celeb Invasion Continues

rosario costume_1Burning Man has become THE place for celebs to show their cool factor. Last year we had first time visits from P.Diddy, Susan Sarandon, and General Wesley Clark…amongst others.

Actress Rosario Dawson is in a different league, though: she has been to the burn 9 times, and created several art projects for it. The star of “Sin City” built her own major art installation for the 2011 theme “Rites of Passage”: a 30 foot long installation with a penis slide into a misting vagina tent. As you do! Visitors strolled through this misting vagina tunnel, but anyone who missed the g-spot had to make a second trip through. Once you found and pressed it, “a doorbell would ring and lights would flash.”

She has taken to the talk show circuit to display her hipness profess her love for Burning Man, bringing the heart-warming story to Jimmy Kimmel, Chelsea Handler, and now Conan O’Brien.

Last week’s Conan interview has been taken down from YouTube but you can find it here.

Penis slide unmasked…or just some random cock?

We look forward to seeing more of Rosario’s art at future burns, as well as in the upcoming Sin City 2 – due for release right before the burn, on August 22, 2014.

  3. Lol. Pretentious burners.
Burning Man is what you make it. If you get “too big” for Burning Man, then yes, you’re right, it’s not for you anymore. Better that way anyways.
Leave Burning Man to the people that can still smile in it’s splendor, and love all that it has to offer, that you are likely never to find in a large festival setting anywhere else in the world.
Just because you took what you wanted from it, and are now “over it” doesn’t mean a first time Burner can’t be in the same state of awe you once were. It’s everyone’s first time sometime.
    Chill out pretentious ex-burners.

    • this is the conundrum of BMOrg – in order to ensure that everyone at their party are in a dewy-eyed state of awe, they need to continually increase the number of virgins. Meanwhile, Burners who’ve been a few times and have learned to take the Org’s statements with a grain of salt, are now “over it” and should be booted out. They threaten the cash cow.
Which begs the question: is this culture something that we’re all making together? Or is it something being manufactured and licensed exclusively for the profit of others? A situation where we are expected to contribute everything but have no say in what is done with it is not a “radical” experiment in co-operative living, it’s old-fashioned feudalism. You painted that painting on the king’s land? Then that’s the king’s painting.

  5. I’ve never heard of either the actress, or the show, but give the girl a break, the whole penis/slide/vagina thing was cool. I was at the 2011 burn and sad to say, I missed it. In fact, I didn’t even see it at all, but this year, I’m seeing everything. Oh, I forgot, I mean after I find a ticket in STEP or somewhere.

  6. Kinda feel like this just perpetuates the cult of celebrity in the default world…I could care less that she goes or doesn’t go, why does this matter???
