Anyone can use the Burning Man logo and footage from the Playa to make promo videos for their business now. Fest300 paved the way!
Interesting that no copyright claims are made for themselves, or others, nor any trademark rights acknowledged. Enough of this sort of video, and Decommodification LLC will have no assets.
Was the Fest300 incident a BOrg policy change (link please!), or just a precedent for their hypocrisy?
I think a precedent – their “policies” are deliberately vague and many rules remain unwritten. For example, the Ten Principles are just guidelines for directors wanting to cash in, but become iron clad rules when groups like the Dancetronauts are singled out for scapegoating.
