Some things I couldn’t adequately answer during the interview:
– the significance of the Apple/Newton quote, “a mind forever voyaging through strange seas of thought, alone”
The quote is from a poem by William Wordsworth, which refers to a prism. In 1986, a video game was released based around this quote “A Mind Forever Voyaging”, in which “PRISM” was a sentient AI. In 2013 Edward Snowden revealed PRISM as the name of the supercomputer surveillance system used by the NSA and other government agencies to profile and track us. The program was officially launched in 2007.
Wordsworth isn’t just any old poet.
In 1898 Havelock Ellis reported to the Smithsonian Institution: “If it ever should chance that the consumption of mescal becomes a habit, the favorite poet of the mescal drinker will certainly be Wordsworth. Not only the general attitude of Wordsworth, but many of his most memorable poems and phrases cannot — one is almost tempted to say — be appreciated in their full significance by one who has never been under the influence of mescal. On these grounds it may be claimed that the artificial paradise of mescal, though less seductive, is safe and dignified beyond its peers.” At the turn of the century, both William James and Havelock Ellis undertook their study of hallucinogenic agents. James used nitrous oxide (apparently to avoid bad stomach cramps) while Ellis used the newly discovered peyote.

Wordsworth’s totem animal was the Owl, connected to Bohemian Grove.
In English literature the owl had a sinister reputation probably because it was a bird of darkness and is always associated with death. During the 18th and 19th century, the poets Robert Blair and William Wordsworth used the owl as their favorite “bird of doom”. During that period many people believed that the screech of an owl meant imminent death.

Theories are all well and good, but they are just theories. What is interesting is to turn a theory into a model that predicts future actions of the subject system.
For example, for my favorite topic, gravity: at the least, the earth sucks; better is that heavy objects fall with more force than light objects. This model let the ancient Romans build unparalleled viaducts to move water. Their theory let them create amazing things that worked because it worked as a model to predict something that had not been seen before.
However, that theory and model needed Galileio, Newton and Keppler to turn into it into a better theory and model that let us predict the motion of falling objects and go to the moon. A theory is only interesting if it leads to a model to predict things we have not yet seen, or things that are otherwise not explained without it.
Burnersxxx, does your conspiracy theory lead to a model that predicts the otherwise inexplicable, or future events not otherwise expected? What can only be explained or predicted by a model based on your theory?

I am sharing history, rather than postulating a theory. Towards the end of the series, there are a couple of areas where I will speculate on the “Why” of all this. Once we have gone through the facts of When, Where, Who, and What, we can start talking about theories and the future.

The world doesn’t work that way, human behavior cannot be reduced to a neat scientific formula that is falsifiable and predictable. Pesky humans.
Yeah, i guess you are right. That guy Freud has fostered an amazing hoax on civilization. All those board-certified psychiatrists who testify in court are part of the scheme. as are the med schools who give them MDs. Quite a conspiracy all by itself.

I don’t believe psychiatrists are part of a scheme, most are just trying to understand human behavior, and most would not characterize their work as a formula that can predict behavior. Some, like Freud, were a but hubristic in their claims, though.

No they weren’t loony, I believe they were genuinely trying to understand human behavior and came up with some useful insights. They and others in the psychiatric field have contributed a lot towards our understanding of ourselves, but not one of them has developed anything that can predict what one person will do in the future, let alone a group or population or humanity.

Actually, as n increases, the probability of successful prediction for the group increases dramatically. But you don’t believe in the quote, “Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.”
Oh sorry, modeling behavior. We can slap labels on this or that group of behaviors and call it “narcissism” or “manic-depressive,” etc. It’s useful insomuch as it makes it clear that there are patterns and that a small minority of us are chemically unbalanced. But, surprisingly to me, the older I get the more I believe we should take it all with a grain of salt, at best. We’re products of biology and environment. As soon as we think we’ve got it all figured out, something else either happens or is discovered or comes into vogue and we’ve got to scrap it all and start over.
At least the Borg are well-modeled by NPD, as applied by Vaknin to groups. You grasp for explanations outside of NPD, like “they don’t want to disappoint people,” when the NPD behavior model predicts the “inexplicable” they do as a matter of course.

I agree with you JV; at the same time, this is what the entire field of cybernetics is based on. Among other fields, as Nomad points out.
Here is a theory: “Since WW2, no Republican can be elected President without Nixon or a Bush on the ticket.” If this theory translates to an accurate predictive model, then Trump will lose. And this is also why Jeb! was the presumptive nominee by the Illuminati, and why they wholesale abandoned the RNC convention. Absent undisclosed information, the actual mechanism for this model is open to speculation. However, not knowing how it works does not prevent it from being used. We will see in November.
Skull and Bones and Bohemian Grove are the mechanism. Or at least, some key workings within it.

Similar minds are drawn to similar things, so that creative types like Jobs, video game designers, and Snowden might just have connected to the same poem in parallel but no in cahoots. Seems a MUCH more probable explanation to me. Extrapolate that out. But I know we’ll never convince each other. It’s just, man. Your world is certainly more interesting and narratively satisfying, but then so I believing in a Sky Daddy. I’m shaking my head. I’m SMH-ing, ha.

The connections between Apple and the military and the counter-culture were covered in Part 1. Jobs had a TOP SECRET security clearance at least between 1988-1990. Doing what, we don’t know; something to do with satellites. Which most likely means spying. Jobs also connects in via LSD, Xerox PARC, Stewart Brand & the Merry Pranksters.
Snowden’s revelations were in 2013, the PRISM game was 1985. I’m not saying Snowden is connected to the video game, that is a bizarre twisting of my words. Maybe someone at Palantir or DARPA was inspired by the game to name their AI system PRISM. Maybe it’s just coincidence. Maybe all were inspired by prisms like Wordsworth. It’s all fairly peripheral to Satanism.
