Make Money While You Paint: Crowdsourcing for Artists

The Burning Man Project is throwing a free workshop for artists, to teach them about Crowdsourcing and Fundraising. It’s good to see them doing more to facilitate the underground economy of Burning Man art.

It’s this Thursday, December 13 at 6:30pm at Burning Man Headquarters, 995 Market St at 6th St., 15th Floor, 94103

Want to create something awe-inspiring and wondering how to cover the costs? If so, this workshop on Crowdsourcing and Fundraising, led by Will Chase, is for you! Any medium- or large-scale art project takes some money to realize the vision … and unless you’re independently wealthy, this will require fundraising of some kind.

Fundraising is easy to overlook or just plain do badly, leaving you holding the bag in the end and potentially in debt. This workshop will cover fundraising strategies, tips and techniques to help you maximize your effort whether you’re looking for help from your immediate community or a broader audience of donors. (Note: this workshop will NOT cover grants or grant-writing. It will instead focus more on on-line crowdsourcing options and similar direct fundraising efforts.)

Afterward, feel free to join the Burning Man Art Lounge social taking place in the Evolution Room – also on the 15th Floor
