In the Shadow History series, I explore the true history of Silicon Valley. Burning Man played an important role. Full respect is paid in Part 1 to Steve Blank’s brilliant Secret History of Silicon Valley. The cultural side of the Military-Industrial Complex is no less important to the story of Silicon Valley than the engineering side, In My Humble Opinion.
Editor’s Tip: If you think you only want to watch a little bit of this to get started, watch hours 2 and 3 of Part 7. I hope that will inspire you to check the rest of the series out.
This Series began airing on Jan Irvin’s Gnostic Media channel 24 April 2016 – see Can Radical Inclusion Handle the Truth? Welcome to Shadow History. The last episode was presented while Burning Man was opening in August 2017. More than four years of full-time research went into the view of history presented here. I had originally intended to publish a book but some of my discoveries were much better conveyed by video of people speaking in their own words, than just quoting them in print.
Part 5 was so long we split it into 2. So technically this is a 7.5 part series. If you only want a little bit to get started try hour 2 & 3 of Part 7.
TL;DR
I tried to condense everything into just over an hour in this March 2018 episode of CryptoBeast:
50 Years of Flower Power
A special show on the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Human Be-In with Joe Atwill, Jan Irvin, Steve Outtrim, and Hans Utter.
Grateful Dead
I collaborated with Joe Atwill and Jan Irvin after reading their paper Manufacturing the Deadhead. This led to some further interviews with Chalmers Wood Jr, who was John Perry Barlow’s room-mate at boarding school and has a fascinating story about his role in the origins of the Dead.
