Taking real things that have nothing to do with Burning Man and twisting them to connect them to Burning Man. If you grew up in California you saw that school film about Monarch butterflies 100 times. Monarch butterflies are in our DNA.

wow. that’s a stretch. i haven’t been to burning man in 8 years, but i’d go back in a heartbeat. it’s what you make it. you know that. i’ve had good burns and bad ones. the energy that i brought with me determined the experience i had each year. the guy who had himself branded wanted that brand. the women who were branded by nxivm are the definition of uninformed consent. ultimately, for me, the definitive proof that burning man is not a cult is that we leave. it exists for one week out there (depending), and no one’s asking for my money or demanding that i “level up” with only their coursework. outside, your involvement is your choice: time commitment, associations, personal contribution… i celebrate a critical eye. i certainly don’t think the playa is nirvana, but i’m back where i started with you. just, wow. THAT’S A STRETCH.
Burning Man branding is awesome. Then when you realize that working for BMorg for slave wages was participating in your own exploitation by the Company so they didn’t have to pay real wages – you still have that scar to remind you, FOREVER.
I need more pics of people being branded by the BM corporate brand. Does Starbucks do this, too? Bonus points for pics where the branding went terribly wrong. Even better if it’s in the groin region.
More likely, butterflies have long been symbols of transformation, for obvious reasons, and Burning Man is all about transformation, getting out of your comfort zone, trying new things, etc.

That’s a nice turn of phrase, but it doesn’t mean anything, really. Your explanation requires a lot of moving parts and coordination between disparate and varied entities. My explanation requires a single artist’s take on the Burning Man experience. Only one of those would fit the common definition of Occan’s Razor: “Entities are not to be multiplied without necessity.”
I know we’ll never agree on this conspiracy thing.
Occam’s Razor:
MKULTRA was a mind control project
MKULTRA promoted LSD and psychedelics
MKULTRA created the counter culture
Burning Man, which features LSD, counter culture, and mind control, is the modern version of this project.
Your reduction fails to explain the rest of the DARPA / occult / transhumanism connections. Mine does, simply.
